Post-Game: Capitals @ Sabres

I'm just going to go ahead and say it, Alex Ovechkin...We miss you. The Caps lose an ugly game in Buffalo, 5-0. Here are some quick facts about the game:

  • Washington was shutout for the first time since losing by the same score on March 19th against Chicago.
  • ShaMo was injured in the first period and did not return.
  • Theodore gave up a goal on the first shot...Where have I heard that before?
  • The Caps surrendered eight Power Plays to the Sabres, who converted on one of the extra-man advantages.
  • The Capitals went 0/5 on the Power Play.
  • Vanek: 2 goals, +2 rating.
  • Semin: 0 goals, -1 rating.
  • Three of the five Buffalo goals were scored within 90 seconds of the start or the end of the period.
  • The Caps out-shot the Sabres 14-4 in the 2nd period.
  • The Caps were out-scored 1-0 in the 2nd period.
  • Ryan Miller recorded his eight career shutout.
